Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park becoming R&D innovation highland
Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park was established in 2012 at the site of Jiuxianqiao electronic city. Relying on its rich innovative resources, superior geographical location, convenient four-dimensional transportation, complete supporting services and mature industrial clusters, the park has attracted over 150 multinational companies from more than 10 countries and regions.
It has become a comprehensive industrial park focusing on the electronic information industry and integrating advanced manufacturing, new energy and environmental protection, and biomedicine.
Entering the "new normal" phase, the park's new model and new business have been leaping forward, and a new economy has sprung up in Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park. Apple has kept the park in mind in implementing its layout of the Chinese market and Anton Oil is moving towards the international market while a group of Grade A office buildings such as the Greenland Center, Kuntai Jiarui, Poly International Plaza and Wangjing SOHO has arisen rapidly in the Large Wangjing area.
Over ten companies of the Alibaba group like Ali Health and Alisoft have entered Wangjing, and 58 City, Ganji, Anjuke, Tongcheng-Elong and other renowned enterprises have also entered the IT Industrial Park. Joining forces with Dianping, and with the support of Meituan Open Services, Meituan has settled in the Wangjing International research and development Park and become the most distinctive and dynamic innovation center in Chaoyang district.
Coordinated development of "One District, Multiple Parks"
The planning area of Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park is 26.1 square kilometers. Jianxiang Park and Wangjing District (including Large Wangjing), eastern and western zones of the electronic city, are built-up areas; the northern zone and Fatou Central District are designated as new construction areas.
The eastern zone is a transformation area of the old industrial base. It has become a new industrial area that integrates high-tech industries and productive services.

Regarded as the "cradle of China's electronics industry", the area has attracted a group of Fortune 500 companies like ABB and Schlumberger, as well as 360, BOE, SuperMap Group and other national enterprises. This place is also home to 798 and 751, two cultural and creative industrial parks.
The western zone of the electronic city gathers regional headquarters and R&D centers of electro-communication companies, including Fortune 500 ventures such as Schneider, Ericsson and Agilent Technologies and a number of other high-tech Chinese enterprises such as Aimu Company, Yip Group and Bonc.
The Large Wangjing Science and Technology Business Innovation Zone adheres to the five development concepts of "innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing" and sticks to innovation-driven and characteristic development as it targets a new highland of coordinated development.
The innovation zone will also focus on supporting the development of "Internet plus", science and technology services and other industries, and strive to create a high-tech business innovation zone with a large number of cutting-edge companies, prosperous business activities and complete commercial facilities.
Anticipated as the most important future industrial carrying space of Chaoyang Park, the northern zone of the electronic city is deepening regional planning and building itself into a world-class R&D and innovation cluster, a significant node of global science and technology innovation networks and a livable international talent community.
There are 14 research institutes and 10 laboratories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Jianxiang Park. They are positioned to use their own resource advantages to build platforms for scientific and technological achievement transformation and to provide services for international scientific and technological activities and industrial development.
The Fatou Central District used to be home to a number of energy and chemical enterprises such as coking plants. With the adjustment of industrial structure as well as renovation of the Fatou area, the Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park will transform the space into build a comprehensive system of emerging industries.
Relying on the functional orientation of "one park, multiple districts", Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park promoted planning and industrial upgrading in an all-round way. Driven by the new economy such as "Internet plus", the development of the park shows good momentum. The park is now home to over 1,400 high-tech enterprises and its total revenue in 2018 is expected to be finally tallied at 640 billion yuan, an increase of nearly 15 percent year-on-year.
