The new economy springs up as innovative resources are concentrated

In recent years, propped by the advantages of the old electronics industry base, Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park has built its strong information industry with mobile communication and electronic information as the core business, and attracted Siemens, Mercedes-Benz, Caterpillar and other leading international manufacturing companies.

Currently, the park has four industrial clusters led by electronic information and supported by new energy, advanced manufacturing and biomedicine; the industrial structure of the park has been continuously optimized.

Meanwhile, with the advantages of internationalization in Chaoyang district, there are more than 30 regional headquarters and R&D centers of such companies as ABB, Schneider, Hewlett-Packard, Novo Nordisk, Agilent, Merck and other Fortune 500 performers. Apple and DJI and other renowned enterprises are currently preparing to enter the park.

With the construction of key industrial projects such as an IT Industrial Park and Large Wangjing, the new economy is springing up in the park. A number of innovative enterprises such as Alibaba, 58 City, Meituan and Miss Fresh have successively settled in the "Internet plus" industry, giving impetus to its industrial agglomeration.

According to statistics, by the end of November 2018, Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park had a total of 123 foreign-invested enterprises and enterprises with investment from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, achieving a total income of 226.17 billion yuan and accounting for nearly half of the park's total revenue.

Besides, more and more international innovation talents had flowed to the park, and a large number of foreign experts and returned overseas students had started their businesses. By the end of November 2018, the park had welcomed 978 Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign employees, including 86 foreign experts.

As the innovation resources continue to gather, Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park is further optimizing its spatial layout. The newly built northern zone covers 3.38 square kilometers and focuses on building "three centers and one base", namely, a technology innovation financial center, an intellectual property and technology transaction M&A center, a science and technology talent exchange center and a gathering place for technology innovation headquarters.

The northern zone will also promote the four functional projects of "Three Internationals and One Future", that is, International Talent Apartments, International Hospitals, International Schools and the permanent venue of the Future Forum.

In this way, the functions of a public service center in the northern zone can be strengthened to create a livable environment for international high-quality talents and the park can attract top-notch scientists, engineering and technical experts and entrepreneurs.

It is also worth mentioning that the Future Forum venue will accommodate international conferences integrating scientific exchanges, high-tech science forums and cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements.

In addition, Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park will bring into full play the resource advantages of the Future Forum in frontier basic research, industry-university-research cooperation and entrepreneurship to create a strong innovative atmosphere.
