The scientific and technological exploration of orthopedic surgery robots started in 2000. By 2004, the first orthopedic robot surgery in China was successfully completed. In 2005, Beijing Tinavi Technology Company was established.

Due to the extremely long payback period of the medical device industry, the company hadn't generated any revenue for five consecutive years since its establishment.

In 2010, with Zhongguancun Development Group as the nominal holder of shares, the city of Beijing invested 20 million yuan ($3 million) of government equity in Tinavi to support its innovation and development.

One year later, the company received the first batch of orders, and gradually expanded its market. Today, Tianzhihang has established its minimally invasive surgery center for orthopedic robots in a number of hospitals and got successfully listed on the new OTCBB.

The domestic orthopedic surgery robot of Tinavi has performed nearly 3,000 surgeries in authoritative hospitals like Jishuitan Hospital. As its sales get stronger in China, more hospitals choose to purchase the domestic medical robot rather than imported equipment.
