In October 2012, with the approval of the State Council, the planned area of Shijingshan Park was increased to 13.34 square kilometers, and 17 regions were added, including the western extension area, Shougang transformation area, Yinhe commercial area, Yongdinghe green development commercial area and Wuliituo western development reserve land.

A development pattern of "one axis, two cores, and multi-pillars" has been formed. Modern finance, high-tech, cultural creativity and science and technology service industries have been greatly developed in the park. It has been identified as the national cultural and science and technology integration demonstration base by five ministries including the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Publicity. It has been designed as the main line of cultural science and technology fusion in Beijing's cultural innovation industry function area, becoming the main "battlefield" driven by the city's double wheels of culture and science and technology.

At present, Shijingshan Park focuses on the construction of Beijing Insurance Industrial Park, military and Civilian Integration Industrial Park, Zhongguancun Virtual Reality Industrial Park, Shougang Artificial Intelligence Innovation Industrial Park and other characteristic parks, bringing together more than 780 high-tech enterprises such as the Institute of Electronic Science and Technology, Kyland Technology, Libeiya, CASIC, Baofengmojing, Quyoushidai Technology, Hualu North Cultural Technology, and 91jinrong.

Preliminary statistics show that in 2018, the park’s total enterprise income was 250 billion yuan and its total profit was 45 billion yuan. Next, Shijingshan will focus on the development of a new generation of information technology (software and information services, next generation information network), digital creativity (virtual reality) and other industries, and actively cultivate artificial intelligence (innovation application), urban science and technology (sports technology, financial technology), industrial Internet and other industries.
