A few days ago, 10 hard & core technology enterprises stood out from 15 hopefuls in the finals of the virus detection event of the 2020 Zhongguancun International Frontier Technology Innovation Competition. 

Through the competition, more than 200 high-quality projects at home and abroad were selected from more than 2,000 projects launched since 2017, and participating enterprises such as Cambricon and Megvii obtained financial support and precision services. 

A special event on "Resisting the epidemic with science and technology" was held in this year's competition in which each participating enterprise had 15 minutes – eight for project presentation and seven for on-site reply. 

The new-type COVID-19 nucleic acid detection platform and detection kit based on digital PCR developed by Targeting One can achieve precise and quantitative nucleic acid low-load detection of the COVID-19 virus. According to Guo Yong, Founder of Targeting One, the product has obtained CE certification. 

The fully integrated microfluidic chip nucleic acid detection system developed by Bai-care can achieve rapid on-site detection of the COVID-19 virus through integral nucleic acid extraction and amplification. 

The sequencing chip, sequencing kit and sequenator independently developed by Genedra are together a domestic substitution for core technologies. The control experiment results of Genedra's sequencing kit are consistent with those of Illumina. 

Experts from 12 authorities in the field of virus detection, including the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the People's Liberation Army, and the Institute of Microbiology evaluated the products. After five hours of fierce competition, 10 enterprises including Targeting One and Bai-care stood out and are well positioned for further support and advancement.
