The opening ceremony of the NIBS (National Institute of Biological Sciences) incubation base of scientific achievements was held in the Medical Science and Technology Center of Zhongguancun Life Science Park On June 29, 2020.

BeiGene and Huahui Health were the first two companies to settle in the base. 

Zhongguancun Life Science Park will invest in a number of experimental and specialized platforms to support the implementation, incubation, scientific research transformation and pilot testing of NIBS innovative projects. 

The Medical Science and Technology Center of Zhongguancun Life Science Park will provide supporting services, including biomedical R&D and pilot tests, office space, academic reports and conferences and catering for biomedical research institutions and pharmaceutical companies.

Wang Zhiwei, senior vice president of BeiGene, attended the event. BeiGene is devoted to the research and development of molecular targeted and tumor immunotherapy drugs. It is the first Chinese biotechnology company listed on both the NASDAQ and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. 

Presently, the company has over 30 drugs under R&D. Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor BRUKINSA (zanubrutinib) has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for listing, becoming the only Chinese new drug that has passed "Fast Track", "Priority Review" and "Accelerated Approval" and been recognized as a "Breakthrough Therapy". 

Li Huihui, Chairman of Huahui Health, also attended the event. Huahui Health is committed to the transformation of scientific innovation achievements to combat the hepatitis B virus. 

In the future, more scientific research achievement incubation and transformation projects will be introduced into the base.
