The 2020 Zhongguancun 5G Innovative Application Competition was launched on July 29.

Integrating scenarios, implementation, and follow-up support, the competition will solicit 5G innovative application projects from global enterprises and teams. 

With the theme of "focusing on new infrastructure, enabling new scenarios such as smart parks and intelligent logistics, and cultivating new formats", it will introduce a number of 5G innovative application projects to the Zhongguancun Demonstration Zone. 

To run from July to October this year, the competition includes project solicitation, qualification examination, sub-venue preliminaries, sub-venue finals, finals and an award presentation, and will be conducted both online and offline. 

Two sub-competitions will be part of the contest. The first is the Zhongguancun 5G Core Technology Innovation Competition. The second is the Zhongguancun 5G Integrative Innovation Application Competition. In both real 5G application scenarios will be used to select projects in the field of smart parks, intelligent logistics, unmanned aerial vehicle, smart construction sites and the industrial internet. 

Award-winning projects can settle in Zhongguancun Frontier Technology Innovation Center, Zhongguancun Software Park and Zhongguancun Industrial Internet Industrial Park and enjoy rent exemptions or other concessions for three years. 

For example, the top three projects in each field which meet the Zhongguancun application requirements for frontier technology projects will be given priority and may enjoy fund support in equipment purchases, rent, R&D investment (not exceeding 30% of total expenses), or financial support of up to 5 million yuan over three years. 

At the same time, the award-winning projects will also receive corresponding support in terms of exclusive services, market matching, investment and financing services and space and exhibition venue availability.
