The ZhongguanScience Shuzhi Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance (ZAI) was inaugurated in Beijing on Aug 28.

Establishment of the alliance is an important measure to cultivate an industrial cluster with international competitiveness and technological leadership, according to Liu Hang, a member of the local administrative committee.

At the launching event, ZAI signed a cooperative agreement with the Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance of China. The two parties will give full play to their advantages to conduct joint research on key technologies and industry consolidation, and to work more closely together on standard setting, marketing and professional services.

Diversified activities will be carried out to promote AI technologies’ application in production and manufacturing, health care, life services, urban management and other scenarios, as building platforms for exchanges are highlighted.

As a national innovation demonstration zone, the output value of 468 AI backbone enterprises in Zhongguancun in 2019 was about 170 billion yuan ($24.77 billion), a year-on-year increase of 13.3%.
