A press conference for the 2020 Zhongguancun Forum was held on Sept 11 in the Press Conference Hall of the Press Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.

The theme of this year's forum is "Meeting Challenges Through Cooperation and Innovation". It consists of four major sections - Conference, Exhibition, Trading and Release - and more than 50 events will be held.

The conference section will include an opening ceremony and 26 parallel forums. At the opening ceremony, top scientists including Nobel Prize and Fields Medal winners, plus representatives of well-known multinational companies, industry leaders, and start-up companies, will deliver speeches on the theme of "people's well-being during the global epidemic".

With regard to the trading section, technology trading will be carried out, based on a comprehensive service platform, and aimed at the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Five activities will be conducted during the forum. The first is the initiation of an international technology trading alliance. The second is the launch of a batch of new products. The third is a series of trading activities focusing on international leading projects. The fourth is the launch of a list of the top 100 technologies in industrial innovation. The fifth is the promotion of cooperative innovation and communication among the top ten Chinese and foreign science and technology universities.

The 'release' section will feature a special event which will see the release of a major set of results. Results in relevant fields will also be released on parallel forums.

With regards to the exhibition section, the 23rd China Beijing International High-tech Expo - covering exhibitions, marketing and trading - will be held at the same time.

More than 200 world-renowned experts and scholars, over 400 famous entrepreneurs and investors, and 150-plus domestic and foreign government officials and envoys in China will attend the forum.

The forum will be broadcast through the official website of Zhongguancun Forum (http://www.zgcforum.com/), Weibo, Toutiao, Tik Tok, Kuaishou, CCTV, iQiyi, Qianlong, Beijing Daily client, Beijing News client, and more.

Also introduced at the press conference were highlights of the construction plan for the Beijing networked cloud-controlled high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone, one of the major results to be released at this year's forum.
