Sponsored by the Beijing Intellectual Property Office, the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee and other departments, the forum on "Intellectual Property Operations and Finance from a Global Perspective" took place at the Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone on Sept 19, 2020.

Over 60 experts and scholars from the World Intellectual Property Organization, European Patent Office, Japan External Trade Organization, Qualcomm and other organizations participated in the event and nearly 1,500 people watched the forum via livestreaming.

Lei Xiaoyun, director of the IP utilization and promotion department at the CNIPA, pointed out that the CNIPA has supported 37 cities in promoting intellectual property operation and services. As the ZGC established the first intellectual property service industry alliance, the first intellectual property operating fund, the Beijing Intellectual Property Trading Center and the Intellectual Property Finance Research Institute, the CNIPA hopes to work together with it to inject the impetus of intellectual property into innovation and development.

Li Zhong, deputy director of the Beijing Intellectual Property Office, also mentioned the "China Intellectual Property Index Report 2019" that showed that Beijing's comprehensive intellectual property strength ranked first in the country for ten consecutive years. In 2019, Beijing had 132 invention patents per 10,000 people, ranking first in the country and nearly 10 times the national average.

Zhu Jianhong, deputy director of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, remarked that the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee will guide domestic service organizations to "go global" and "bring in" foreign service organizations.

Zhao Changshan said that Beijing IP, as an important part of the Zhongguancun Development Group, has operated 32,000 high-quality patents in colleges and universities, activated over 1,100 corporate intellectual property rights, conducted 14,000 intellectual property big data analyses, and exceeded 1 billion yuan in financing services.

In her keynote speech, Liu Hua, director of the WIPO China Office, introduced WIPO's new services and latest information. Steve Rowan, vice president of the European Patent Office, gave a presentation on corporate patent strategies of Europe and the value realization road map.

The forum released information about ZGC's characteristic intellectual property service modes and products, such the analysis and visualization system of smart park technological innovations developed by Beijing IP, the IP7+ patent classification management tool at the national intellectual property operation public service platform, IP Talent's IP folder block chain deposit and Zhongjinhao's CNIPOL intellectual property evaluation.

Drawing on those resources, an analysis and visualization system of smart park technological innovations was created by Beijing IP and the national intellectual property operation public service platform that covers more than 100 countries, 30 plus types, over 900 million pieces of data and 40 indicators.
