The economic operation of Fengtai Science Park in Zhongguancun was generally stable in the first three quarters of this year, and its output per capita and land output both ranked second in Beijing's demonstration zones.

Fengtai Park has become a focal point of economic development and the main battlefield of technological innovation in Fengtai district.

Output per capita and land output rate rank second in the demonstration area

In the first three quarters of this year, the economic operation of Fengtai Park was generally stable, with 10.9 billion yuan($1.67 billion) of tax revenue and 5.57 billion yuan of local revenue, of which 3.18 billion yuan belongs to district revenue, a year-on-year increase of 5.7 percent.

The total revenue of Fengtai Park was 438.11 billion yuan, accounting for 9.2 percent of the total income of Beijing's demonstration zone, ranking fourth in the demonstration zone. This is a year-on-year increase of 13.5 percent, and the growth rate was 2.7 percentage points higher than the average level of the demonstration zone.

The park's per capita output was 2.91 million yuan per person, while the land output rate was 24.85 billion yuan for every square kilometer, both ranking second in the demonstration area.

The park also achieved 1.72 billion yuan in fixed assets investment, 950 million yuan in construction and installation investment, and 6.79 billion yuan in research and development expenses, a year-on-year increase of 51.1 percent. This represents a growth rate of 26.5 percentage points above the average level of the demonstration zone.

The park's total import and export volume amounted to 27.51 billion yuan, ranking fourth in the demonstration zone, an increase of 17.9 percent year-on-year. The growth rate was 9.2 percentage points higher than the average level of the demonstration zone.

Build an industrial collaborative service platform

Fengtai Park, together with Beijing Investment Corporation and China Development Group, registered and established Beijing Zhongguancun Rail Transit Industry Development Company on May 21 this year. 

With policy research, industrial services and resource introduction as its primary objectives, the company will coordinate expert think tank resources, R&D resources, capital financial resources and industrial incubation resources to build a comprehensive service platform for industrial collaborative innovation.

In addition, Fengtai Park and the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee jointly issued the "Action Plan for the Innovation and Development of the Rail Transit Industry in Zhongguancun Fengtai Park (2020-2022)."

There are 22 support measures proposed in strengthening the research and development of key technologies, opening up the innovation chain, creating distinctive spaces, developing industrial clusters, optimizing innovation and entrepreneurship and linking the global high-end innovation network. 

Based on the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee's reward funds, Fengtai District offers a 1:1 reward fund for innovative enterprises.

Create a sound industry development environment

Since the beginning of this year, to create an excellent industrial environment, two national events have been held in the rail transit and aerospace industries.  

In the rail transit industry, the China Railway Society, China Academy of Railway Sciences and Beijing Jiaotong University jointly organized the second China Railway Development Forum from Oct 23 to 24. 

The meeting was attended by more than 400 people from the National Railway Group and its 18 railway bureaus, Chinese Academy of Railway Sciences, CRRC and other rail transit enterprises and scientific research institutes. 

At this forum, Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, Fengtai District Government, Beijing Investment Corporation and China Development Group signed the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Promoting the Development of the Rail Transit Industry," establishing a strategic partnership for the comprehensive innovation and development of the rail transit industry, and achieving complementary advantages. 

In the aerospace industry, the third China Aerospace Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition finals was held on Oct 14 this year in conjunction with the Chinese Astronautical Society, the China Aerospace Foundation and the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee. 

The theme of the contest was "Aerospace leads and achieves the future." It attracted wide attention from experts and scholars in the aerospace field. Companies such as Aerospace Science and Technology Group, Aerospace Science and Industry Group and Beijing Yuanliu Hongyuan Electronic Technology Co provided channels for selecting promising projects.

In the future, Fengtai Park will continue to improve the industrial ecosystem and strengthen industrial clusters to promote high-quality development.
