The German Red Dot Design Award, also known as the "Oscar of the design world," was recently announced.

Nuctech Company Limited, a high-tech enterprise in China's security inspection industry, was chosen to receive the "Red Dot: Best of the Best" award.

The Red Dot Award is one of the world's three major design awards, together with the iF Design Award (Germany) and IDEA International Design Excellence Awards (America). 

Founded by the German Design Association in 1955, it is one of the most influential design awards in the world.

In 2021, a total of 4,110 products from 49 countries participated in the evaluation, and only 61 products won the award – equating to a 1.48 percent chance of winning.

The award-winning Kylin Care of Nuctech is a piece of hospital security inspection equipment designed to protect the safety of medical staff and patients. As early as November 2020, it was put into use in the Hainan Free Trade Zone Hospital.

The equipment adopts advanced dual-view-detection technology, which is suitable for inspecting the luggage of hospital personnel. 

It can automatically identify contraband items such as guns and knives by scanning baggage and is equipped with an ultraviolet disinfection module. If prohibited items are detected, the machine will sound an alarm.

The design concept of Kylin Care is derived from the recognized "Cross" medical symbol. 

The status indicator on the side simulates an electrocardiogram.

The product is white and green, breaking the gray-white design style of other security inspection products. Its color scheme offers a clean and friendly visual perception and creates a relaxed and happy atmosphere for medical staff and patients.

The end face of Kylin Care's luggage entry and exit portals adopt a necked shape to highlight the depth of the passage and prevent the inspection personnel from extending their hands too far into the passage. 

The machine's side cover is a one-piece fall-off cover plate with a large maintenance opening area, which is convenient for disassembly and repairs.

The seemingly insignificant step from focusing only on product functions to taking into account both the performance and appearance shows that Chinese high-tech companies such as Nuctech are gradually entering the ranks of global high-end industrial firms.
