The 2021 Zhongguancun Life Science Park Development Forum organized by Zhongguancun Life Science Park was held at the park's Medical Science and Technology Center on Sept 9. 

Representatives of the park's enterprises and researchers from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other universities were invited to attend the meeting.

At the forum, Jin Yi, director of the service department of the ZGC Life Science Park Administrative Committee, delivered a welcome speech. 

He said that after more than 20 years of development, the Zhongguancun Life Science Park has gathered a large number of R&D institutions. 

The park is now home to over 200 top scientists and high-level talents, as well as more than 500 innovative enterprises, turning it into an innovation engine for the development of Beijing's pharmaceutical and health industry.

Researcher Yu Xiaobo from the National Engineering Research Center for Protein Drugs delivered a keynote speech titled "Precision Medicine Research under COVID-19". 

Researcher Ma Jiyan from the Beijing Brain Science and Brain-like Research Center delivered a keynote speech on late-onset neurodegenerative diseases and introduced related research from the perspective of pathogenesis.

Many companies in the Zhongguancun Life Science Park also discussed the coordinated development of scientific research and industry. 

Companies participating in the discussion included Beijing Syngentech Co., LTD., Tomo BioSciences Ltd., Jiaojing (Beijing) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., China Immunotech (Beijing) Biotechnology Co. Ltd., Beijing Lotuslake Biomedical Co., LTD., Beijing Jianwei Medical Laboratory Co., Ltd., and Biotechnology Research Institute Co., Ltd. of the Beijing Life Science Park.

On the same day, the 2021 Science Asia conference Genome Biology and Disease, co-sponsored by Science/American Association for the Advancement of Science (Science/AAAS), Zhongguancun Life Science Park, and TIE International Innovation Corridor officially opened at the Medical Science and Technology Center of the Life Science Park.

The two-day conference, including 14 academic lectures, a round table discussion and lectures by scientists, attracted more than 20 top scientists, scientific research and academic experts, and famous academic journal editors and other academic and industry elites in the biomedical field from China, the United States, Israel and other countries.
