Updated: Feb 2, 2023 L M S

At the beginning of the New Year, the Life Valley International Precision Medicine Industrial Park of Future Science City is already under construction.

As the first project of the third phase of the Life Science Park, the Precision Medicine Industrial Park is expected to be completed and put into use in the third or fourth quarter of 2024, with the first group of 13 companies having already signed contracts to settle in the park, according to Wang Ying, chairman of the Zhongguancun Life Science Park Company.

The construction of the International Precision Medicine Industrial Park launched last August.

The industrial park is located on the south side of Phase I and Phase II of the Life Science Park. Wang introduced that the planned building scale of the park is about 245,700 square meters, providing a compound space for the free conversion and combination of a headquarters office, R&D center, and a pilot test and production base.

It will undertake the transformation of original innovation achievements of scientific research institutions and universities, such as the National Laboratory, the National Institute of Biological Sciences, Peking University, and Tsinghua University. It will also attract multinational companies, listed companies, leading companies and high-growth companies.

The park already has a clear industrial planning direction, which will be oriented toward precision medicine, such as precision diagnosis, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy, and will focus on the key frontiers of the current life science industry, including cell therapy, gene therapy, synthetic biology, and AI medicine.

Currently, among the first group of companies to have signed contracts to settle in the park, many have already accelerated in cutting-edge precision medicine.

EdiGene is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on the transformation of gene editing technology. Bristar Immunotech is an innovative pharmaceutical company focusing on the field of cellular immunotherapy.

After 22 years of development, the Life Science Park has now become an important gathering place and innovation highland for the medical and health industry in Beijing.

The first and second phase projects include 10 national engineering research centers and key laboratories, such as the Beijing Institute of Life Sciences, the National Protein Science Center, and the Beijing Brain Science and Brain-Inspired Research Center, 16 provincial and ministerial-level R&D centers, and over 600 innovative medical and health companies, such as BeiGene, Innocare, and WANTAI BioPharm.
